Welcome to our Wiki. We will use this wiki to share resources with families of students in the Malden Public Schools. This wiki is a project of the Malden Public Schools Title I Office and its efforts to communicate with families how they can be involved and support their children in school. Enjoy!

Workshops for Parents and Family Events.

Parents, you are invited to Breakfast Workshops at each school once a month throughout the year. Learn about the reading and math programs, meet the literacy and math coaches, and some of the administrators. Come and meet other parents, enjoy a cup of coffee! Great time to ask questions. You may bring young children and we will have activities for them. The
workshops usually last for about an hour but you may leave at any time. If you cannot attend, the handouts are usually posted on the Parent Resource Page on the Malden Public School website: www.malden.mec.edu click on "Parents", and this will take you to the general information about the Title I program, click link to Parent Resource Center at the top of the page and this will take you to the following links:

City-Wide Parent Academy Evening Workshops 6 - 7:30 p.m.

Open to parents of Malden Public School Children

These meetings are held at the Salemwood School, 529 Salem Street, in the library on the 3rd floor. Free Childcare for children age 3 and up is provided in the cafeteria on the left as you enter the school at the main door on the circle driveway.

City-Wide Parent Chat Program for parents of children in grades K-4



This is a drop-in program that meets monthly at the Ferryway School, 150 Cross Street, in the Parent Resource Room, 8:30 - 10:00. Come and join the discussion and meet other parents. For more information call 781-388-0663. Information about these meetings is distributed through e-mails and phone calls. Adult Education

Free English classes for parents of Malden Public School students

Classes are held from October through May for parents at the Beebe, Ferryway and Salemwood Schools

Beebe School Schedule: Mondays and Wednesdays: 8:30 - 10 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. - 12 noon

Ferryway School Schedule: Fridays 8 - 10 a.m.

Salemwood School: Tuesdays and Thursdays: 8 - 9:30 a.m., 10 - 11:30 a.m., 12 noon - 1:30 p.m.

The Reading Roots Program for Malden Kindergarteners at the Malden Public Library Children's Room

These FREE enrichment programs are funded by the Anna Yaghjian Fund.
You will be receiving a coupon for a free book from your kindergartener.
Bring in the coupon that your kindergartener received at school for a free book. Deadline is March 31st. Call 781-388-0803 for more information
Free Programs for Kindergarteners will be posted in the Malden Public Library, and on this site during the 2012-13 school year.

Malden Public Library Museum Pass Information

  • Pick up your pass at the library.

Museum Passes must be picked up by noon on the reserved day, or by 5:30 the day before when the library is closed on the reserved day.
Only one pass will be checked out per museum per day. Review museum information below for specific details.

Swan Boats, Boston Public Gardens

Open seven days a week, weather permitting. The Swan Boat drivers paddle passengers around the Public Garden Lagoon for a 15 minute peaceful cruise.
